Doha this week 21-27/01/2018

This was an unusual week for us, in that we had a fair bit of free time in Doha. Generally, [like many other expats in Qatar], if we are around for four or more days we try and get out of town and jump on a plane somewhere. For various reasons we ended up staying in Qatar this week, and here’s what we got up to [well, other than watching Netflix of course]:

Jamie’s Italian: 

A big Jamie fan, I was super excited for the restaurant to open this month. I had actually never been to one of Jamie’s Italian restaurants, but throughly enjoyed the experience. The restaurant has opened in Doha Festival City, so is a little out of town, but to be honest this is probably my favourite mall in Doha anyway.  Continue reading “Doha this week 21-27/01/2018”

Farmers Market Friday

Farmers Market Friday

Friday rolled around, and having spent much of the last two days in bed with a cold, I was craving some fresh air and good old Vit D. OH was off work so we headed out to Education City to visit Torba Market. Having visited the market before, towards the end of 2017, we were excited to see there were some new stalls to explore!

The market is held at the “Ceremonial Court” within Education City. It’s fairly easy to find – once you enter Education City through Gate 2, there are signs directing you towards the market. The market takes place on Thursdays and Fridays, so it’s a perfect weekend outing during the winter for those wanting to escape the Malls, and get outside for a bit.
